Although you start with three specific characters (only during the first playthrough, after finishing the game you start every new campaign with a random set of different characters), it doesn't mean that your group or its size can't change later. Illness, bandits, hunger and other factors can decide about life and death of your people. Below there is a table with all characters available in the game. Every single civilian has his own personal skill set, which can have great impact on certain actions and situations.

Marin | Handyman (character needs less materials to create furniture and items and less weapons parts to create weapon). Coffee Drinker (if he has it in equipment, drinks coffee, which improves his happiness). |
