The best way to reach a particular employer is to use the city map („M”) and choose starting a professional career in a particular place (red icons) [251]. Sim will go to this place to start a job [252].
Taking care of a job

The biggest icon on the left presents professional career which you follow [253]. When you stop on it, you can read at which stage you are (everyone has 10 levels). There is a current post nearby. Below there’s information on current salary per hour, working days and hours as well as when you need to go to work.
Review panel is situated on the right. It presents Sim’s progress at work [254] – elements described here depend on the particular career and activities. Positive review may make Sim’s chances for promotion bigger.

When it’s time a car appears to pick Sim up [255]. If you are in the town you can go to work in your own car, by taxi or on foot. When Sim is at work, you must decide what to [256]. Hard working Sim can get a small raise but it is also worth taking other opportunities which influence the review which is in the worst situation.

Stripe on the right side of the panel presents Sim’s progress at work [257]. If it is green, it means promotion when the day finishes. However, if you are not at work, you can get promoted too. When you click on the icon under Sim’s at a desk image, you will the moved to employment history screen when you can see what career did Sim take up and what results did he or she obtain [258].
Temporary job

Young person can get a temporary job in few places in the city [259]. You work in the afternoon and usually spend about 3 hours there. [260]. It is not very profitable when two adults work or when the family property is huge. Better concentrate on developing skills.
Additional activities

Sim may come across additional tasks which can enable him or her better relations with other Sims, extra money or better job review. Tasks are varied and depend on the skills which should be developed and career. It may be given by the employer, friend and by phone by a stranger. It can be reading a book, catching a fish, giving a lecture, making a dish, make sure other Sim practises sport etc. In most cases there is a time limit (few hours, one or more days). They appear in a special fold in Sims’ panel Sima [261]. If you have go somewhere to complete it, there will be a mark on the map [262]. Completing tasks from employer is profitable.
