Defeat the suits of armour and get out of the cage area | Walkthrough The Last Guardian Guide

Just like you did at the beginning of the game, keep pressing all of the buttons to make the boy wake up. You will learn that you have lost your mirror. Additionally, you will have to wake up Trico.

Climb onto the beast, move towards his tail and start lowering yourself over it. Thanks to this, you will reach the bottom balcony shown in the above screenshot towards which you have to jump.

The tunnel to the lever

Find a small tunnel on the left and follow it (along your path, you will get a message of armor guards). Along the tunnel, you will get to small balcony with a ladder. Climb up the ladder to reach the lever above and move the grate up. This way, you can access the neighboring corridor. Jump down from the platform with the lever and go to the new area.

After you are grappled, keep pressing all of the buttons

Soon after you enter the new chamber, the armors will come to life and will try to catch you. If this happens, start pressing all of the buttons to free yourself. Do not try to fight the armors in any way, because you are defenseless right now.

Note - In case you've got caught, you need to free yourself before the armor brings the boy to the blue door nearby, as once you get through that door you'll automatically lose. The same applies to every encounter with this type of monsters.

Allow Trico to deal with the armored knights

Do not proceed on and go back, instead, to the location where you have left Trico. The beast will wake up and attack the armors. He will win, but after the battle, you will have to soothe him down, because he will be excited. Climb onto him and keep tapping Circle to pet him. After a while, Trico will calm down.

Climb onto Trico's head to reach the ledge up above.

Once again, enter the corridor where you have encountered the armored knights. Make it over to the neighboring corridor and call on Trico. He is too large to squeeze through the small hole, but you can climb onto his head and jump up to grab on to the ledge above.

Turn back and take interest in the wooden beams shown in the above screenshot. Jump to reach the first one and walk along over them. This will take you to a chain that you have to grab onto and climb up. Thanks to this, you will reach the ruins on the surface. Approach the edge (you are standing right by the upper part of the cage, now) and call on Trico. He should spot you and get here.
