Traveling

There are several means of travel. We don't have traveling on foot in mind (later you can use vehicles to make going on foot faster) - apart from this way of traveling there are three other ways to move from one place to another quickly.

  • Medical droids (suicide) - if you know where the closest Medical Center is located (marked with the letter [M] on maps) then simply let yourself get killed. Of course, the more often you do so, the longer you will have to wait till you'll be brought back to life.
  • Quick Travel Points - every 30 minutes you can use an ability that will immediately teleport you to a chosen Quick Travel Point. It's worth keeping in mind that you discover such a point for the first time when you reach it on foot.
  • Taxis - will take you from one place to another for a small charge. You can use them anytime, though their routes are fixed. It's worth keeping in mind that you discover each Taxi for the first time when you reach it on foot.

Death

If you sustain too many injuries from enemy attacks or if you fall down from a high level, you'll die. Fortunately, death in the Star Wars: The Old Republic is not permanent, but a little bothersome. Below there is everything you should know about what happens after your character dies:

  • A Medical Shuttle can bring you back to life in the same place you died. If you die too often, the time to the next rebirth will be getting longer (even 10 minutes).
  • You can be transferred to the nearest Medical Center (marked on the guide maps with [M]). If you die too often, the time to the next transfer will be getting longer, however, it will never take as long as in the case when a Medical Shuttle revives you.
  • You can be respawned by another player, provided he/she's nearby, does it and you accept.
