Mission objectives:

  • Find Raynor;
  • Build Barracks;
  • Train 10 Marines.

This is a simple mission and a kind of an extension of the tutorial. You are the Magistrate who has to deal with a new threat to the numerous colony systems. You assume command over a group of soldiers that has to solve the problem and assist in evacuating civilians.

Raynors vehicle can be repaired by a SCV. - Mission 1 - Wasteland | Terrans | Campaign Walkthrough - Terrans - StarCraft: Remastered Game Guide
Raynor's vehicle can be repaired by a SCV.

You start in the top left corner of the map with a small unit of Marines and workers (SCV). Go along the road down the map until you meet Raynor. Once you've reached the base, you'll receive a new objective: you have to train 10 Marines. This goal is badly worded since you don't have to actually train but merely have 10 soldiers in total. The terrans need Supply Depots to expand the living space. Thanks to them, you can increase the maximum amount of units that can be deployed to the battlefield. In this mission, the enemy won't attack until you do. The only hostile units you'll encounter are Zerglings, very fast creatures that resemble mutated dogs. They have very little hit points and are susceptible to area-of-effect attacks, for example, Raynor's grenades. In small groups, they pose no great threat to your squad.

Create several extra workers and build at least two Supply Depots and a Barracks. Then, start training Marines. The amount of minerals in this place should be enough to complete all mission objectives. However, if you run out of resources, there is a hill in the west - you can find extra mineral deposits there. The place is guarded by small zerg groups so gather a numerous team of soldiers.
