Find a doorway under the stairway and go to the basement. Unfortunately, the whole basement is flooded and, what is even worse, something is lurking under the water.

This “something” is aptly named since it’s a Lurker – a monster who likes to lay in wait in water and attack unexpectedly. Kill it with your knife using a fast combo.

Xbox 360: killing a first Lurker will net you Lurk No More achievement (10 p.).

The Basement isn’t big so you can’t get lost. You have to find Garage Remote (on the pomp). The door near the waterpomp is closed until you get rid of the water.

To get rid of the water you need to turn on the pomp, and to do that, you should fill it with gas.

Go outside the house and open the garage door with Garage Remote. Kill the Lurker and take a Steel Pipe from the bookcase. Set it as weapon. Move deeper into the garage and pry the door open. Take the Empty Gas Can from inside.
