A huge civics bonus. Thanks to getting legacy points faster you can change governments quicker, the bonus is permanent. You should remember that government legacy points is generated rather slowly so you won't be able to use every government during a single scenario. But despite that you have a huge advantage over other nations which can lead you to culture or science victory, but this depends on what governments are interesting to you.

Units receive +5 to combat strength on their home continent. +1 to appeal to all tiles in a city with a National Park.

Bonus to combat strength can help you to clean terrains around your capital but also will make fighting barbarians early in the game. With new eras and technological development of your enemies, this ability will slowly lose its effect but if you keep up with technological development then defending your capital from enemies will become easier. Additionally, this bonus may be useful when you keep establishing new cities on your home continent which in the end will give you a good control over it and provide immunity of some sort.

Additional terrain's appeal may boost your chances in winning culture victory. Build National Parks in each of your cities to use the full potential of this attribute.

Summary

America has a good chance at ending a scenario before the time turns out. In its case religion is the weakest aspect so don't focus on it more than it is necessary, i.e. to get the most important bonuses. If you play as America then you can easier defend your own territory which means that you can block other player's domination. You can use this to win by domination if you make a counterattack on enemy's capital in the right moment. But overall, America has the biggest bonuses for culture victory which is the type that you should focus on.
