Way to unlock the quest: Talk to Eldric (Calador Bay).

You can reach the location, where Chani is, after you have opened the Large Gate

You could unlock the quest in the Calador Bay after you have progressed to the third chapter of the game's story line and after you have started preparations for the spirit ritual. One of three people that need to take part in the ritual, is a voodoo witch Chani and she is staying on Kila., Chani's cottage is in the Forbidden Valley that is inaccessible, by default and therefore you need to open the large gate in the jungle (point 3 on the map). Chani's cottage in the Forbidden Valley

After you have gained access to the Eastern part of the isle, head towards the cottage in the Forbidden Valley (point 4 on the map). Around, there mainly are weak monsters, but you should watch out for Alligators and Grave Spiders. After you have reached the cottage, talk to Chani. From her, you will learn more about the problems of the locals, with the Oracle. Apart from that, it will turn out that Chani is not going to help you with the ritual, unless you help her first. First, two main quests become active - "Lost in the Forbidden Valley" and "Speak to the Oracle". To complete this quest, you only need to complete the former, i.e. find the lost Native Damaka.

Return to Chani after you have completed two quests at the Forbidden Valley

After you have found Damaka, you will receive another quest from Chani - "The Oracle's Soldiers". Your task is to kill the overgrown spiders. It is compulsory to complete this quest also, because this is the only way in which you can secure Chani's help. After you complete the quest, meet up with Chani again. Ask her to take part in the spirit ritual, which she will finally agree to.

Note - I recommend that, before you leave Kila, you also visit the temple in the Forbidden Valley. Thanks to this, you will complete the "The Right Place" main quest.

Jake is aboard the Natives' ship

Note - If you joined the Demon Hunters or the Crystal mages earlier, after you recruit Chani, you need to do one more thing. Reach the Natives' ship that is moored close to the pirate beach, on the Kila isle, which is commanded by Jake (point 1 on the map). During the conversation with Jake force him to join your fleet, which will earn you 400 Glory Points.
