Way to unlock the quest: Talk to Malik.
Quest giver: Malik (point 4 on the map)
Gnome Malik can be found next to one of the Western village exits, in the central part of the map (point 4 on the map). During your conversation with the gnome, you will learn that his helper Dowi went missing. Ask about the probable whereabouts of the missing gnome and go for the search.
Note - Malik is also a skill trainer.
Take the Northern exit from the gnome village and take the first turn to the right to take the path to the North-Eastern hill (it may prove necessary to kill several monkeys along your path). You should be able to locate a cave entrance here (point 4a on the map) and you need to walk inside.
Reach the location, where there is Russel (point 4b on the map). During the conversation, you will learn that he is a slave trader and that he has imprisoned Dowi. There are two different ways, in which to rescue the gnome. The first one is the power play. Unfortunately, in this case, apart from Russel you also need to defeat his Bodyguard, who is using firearms, to top of all that (400 Glory Points). An alternative solution is to pay the slave hunter for the gnome. In this case, it is not a good idea to agree to the first offer (500 gold pieces), and intimidate Russel around (the second dialogue option), which will bring the price down to 200 gold pieces (200 Glory Points).
Regardless of whether you killed Russel or you made a deal, approach the captured Dowi and tell him that he can return to the village (100 Glory Points). You also need to return to Malik (point 4 on the map) and let him know that you have freed his helper.
