Chapter 4 - Murphy's Law Mafia II Guide

DRESSING UP AND MEETING WITH JOE AT THE BAR:

Open the closet #1 to put on some clothes and exit the building. Just as before, you can use a vehicle from your garage or someone else's car to get to the bar. Park the vehicle in front of Freddy's #2. This time you'll be rewarded with a cut-scenes as soon as you've entered the bar.

BREAKING INTO THE SHOPPING MALL:

Enter the car you've used to get here and wait for Joe to join you. The shopping mall is located to the south-west and naturally it will be marked on your map. Avoid breaking the law along the way, because you wouldn't want to initiate a new pursuit. Park the vehicle near the sidewalk #1 and proceed towards the entrance to the shopping mall. Make sure that there are no cops nearby (blue rectangles or arrows on the radar) before starting a lockpicking mini-game #2. A new cut-scene will be shown after completing the mini-game and your next objective will be to escape the shopping mall before more police units arrive at the scene.

ESCAPING FROM THE SHOPPING MALL:

Don't worry, because you'll regain full control over Vito in a few seconds. Turn right at the first chance you get and follow Joe to a narrow corridor #1. Head forward here #2. Make sure to choose a pistol from your inventory along the way, because you'll soon need a gun.

Take cover behind the counter immediately upon entering a new room. Try killing a few bad guys (or cops) from here #1. Thankfully you won't have to stay here too long, because Joe will soon open a new passageway for the both of you #2.

I would strongly recommend exploring the area from now on, because there are two Playboy magazines nearby. The first magazine can be found inside the crate #1 and the other one is under the staircase, near a barricaded doorway #2. Remember that while you're looking for the collectibles some of the police officers may catch up to you and Joe, so you'll have to be ready to quickly deal with them.

Proceed towards the stairs after finding both magazines #1. Head to the top floor. Joe will need a few seconds here to open a new door. You should take cover behind the left wall #2. Wait for police officers to show up and kill them before they get too close to you or your colleague. Remain here until Joe has opened a passageway to the roof.

Start running towards the ledge where Joe is standing after you've made your way to the roof #1. You'll soon be informed about new policemen appearing in the area. Take cover behind the closest brick wall and get rid of them #2. Approach the ledge again when it's safe and you'll witness a new cut-scene. You'll also make your way to a new section of the roof.

Continue following in Joe's footsteps. You won't encounter new cops right away, so you may use the metal balcony without making any stops. Expect trouble after leaving the balcony. I would recommend taking cover behind the chimney #1 and eliminating hostiles from there. One last group of policemen will attack you near the exit #2. Just as before, you should hide behind the chimney and then start shooting. Be careful, because members of this group are well-armed.

Wait for Joe to open a new door and head inside. Make sure to explore this entire corridor, because a Playboy magazine can be found on the floor #1. Continue following Joe and you'll soon reach a fire escape #2. Head down to escape from the shopping mall. Notice that you've been rewarded 1000 dollars for this mission.

REACHING JOE'S APARTMENT:

Returning to Joe's place won't be easy this time. Notice a new icon seen above the radar. It means that Vito himself is wanted by the police and the only solution will be to change clothes. Before you can do that you'll have to acquire a vehicle. There's a parking lot to the north-west and you should go there #1. AVOID police units along the way, because it would be next to impossible to escape police officers on foot. Wait for all patrols to move away from the parking lot and then steal one of the cars #2.

You should now pay a visit to a clothes store and there's one to the north from here (hat icon on Empire Bay's map). Make sure NOT to raise any suspicion on your way to the store, so you shouldn't break law or perform any dangerous maneuvers. Park the car close to the store #1, exit the vehicle when it's safe, enter the store and buy something #2.

You may now return to your hideout. Park the vehicle somewhere nearby and enter the building using the front door this time. Check the ground floor #1 to locate a new Playboy magazine. Once you have it proceed to Joe's apartment to rest on his couch #2.
