This chapter is a complete guide for Hammer and Steel side quest. Here you can find tips that will help you to finish this quest in the most beneficial way.
Activating the quest
The marker for this quest in Free Heap will appear only after you finish the quest called Heap of Trouble. The solution for that quest can be found in the dedicated chapter of this guide. Speak with Kaeluf - he asks you to find two hunters that went on a hunt but since then no one received any information from them. Before you go on a search you can inform Petra about all of that.
Warning: The suggested level for this quest is 20 but it can be too difficult for players with this level. You can lower the difficulty level for that quest or return here when Aloy's level is about 40.
The place pointed by the quest marker is far in the north-west from the village so try to find a mount. The lost hunters are found under the arch presented on the picture. You can hear them arguing from afar. Speak with them to continue the mission. During the conversation you can decide whether you want them to accompany you or you want to act alone. Regardless of your level, their presence will make the quest a little less difficult.
Your goal is to find the convoy's tracks. Use Focus to make this easier. When you get to the destination point you can find a convoy that consists of three giant Behemoths that are accompanied by three other machines. Your task is to eliminate them all.
Even if your level is high, this fight is still difficult. You should find a hill - the cliff on the other side of the river, near which the convoy walks, is a good place. When you attack any of the machines you must be prepared for a very demanding and long fight. Prepare a lot of med pouches and components that are used to make new arrows. Watch out for the rocks that are thrown by the Behemoths. Other attacks shouldn't be that harmful if you are high enough.
After that, search the machines and gather nine pieces of the material that Petra needs. Give them to her to finish the quest.
