Artifact ready for pickup

In the skirmish/multiplayer modes, you find artifacts in specific locations that have been marked with a blue cube. Collecting them can be the condition for victory in these modes. To collect artifacts, you require a Baserunner. You simply have to command the vehicle to the artifact and collect it. Then, the artifact has to be delivered to the specific location, different for each of the players. Only after you deliver it there, you receive a point.

In the story mode, these are objects that can be collected and delivered to the Carrier (or Support Cruiser), in exchange for which you receive a bonus. Several of the artifacts are compulsory to obtain during the campaign (it is your objective during missions), whereas the remaining ones are optional. In the campaign mode, to harvest artifacts, you have to use Rachel S'jet or Salvager. After you find the artifact, wait for a moment for it to be delivered to the Carrier. Then, select the blue cube icon in the upper-right menu (it is not there if you do not have an artifact). This will open a panel where you can view information about this item. All of the artifacts and their bonuses remain active throughout the game, which is why it is best to get as many of them as possible.

List of the artifacts available in the story mode, and their bonuses, has been presented in the next chapter. Also, you will learn how to deliver them and how to activate them. Optional artifacts are random- i.e. their locations are always the same, but not always do you find the same one.
