Leader card

King Bran - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

King Bran

When played, King Bran allows you to discard 3 cards to the graveyard. This is the reason why Clan An Craite Raider and Morkvarg are in this deck. A perfect start for a match is to use the Leader card and then discard 2 Raiders and Morkvarg because after that they are immediately resurrected from the graveyard and return on the board. This method allows you to get 20 Strength points by using only one card.

Golden cards

Hjalmar - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

Hjalmar

Hjalmar has 15 Strength points, however, he sends another unit, Lord Undvik, that has 5 Strength points to the same row in enemy's army. After killing Undvik, Hjalmar gets a bonus - 10 Strength points. Of course, in this deck you can find cards that allows you to destroy the card sent to the enemy's side, e.g. Biting Frost, Clan Drummond Shieldmaiden or Madman Lugos.

Regis: Higher Vampire - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

Regis: Higher Vampire

This card has a very useful ability that can be used in a fight with any deck - it can consume one of three random Bronze cards that are in your enemy's deck. Because of that you not only increase Regis' Strength but you also take away a unit that can be crucial for this battle. Consumed unit is moved to the graveyard.

Madman Lugos - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

Madman Lugos

Madman Lugos has 7 Strength points and he also has an ability that allows you to select a unit from the deck, move it to the graveyard and deal damage that are equivalent to that unit's Strength. Madman Lugos is great when combined with Clan An Craite Raider because the discarded unit can immediately return on the board.

Renew - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

Renew

A card that allows you to resurrect a Golden unit from the graveyard, that card can belong to any of the players. This gives you an opportunity to, e.g. use a Golden card that belonged to your enemy. Renew is especially useful in the last round because there may be several Golden cards that were already used. However, you must remember that before you use this card there must be at least one unit in the graveyard that you can resurrect. Otherwise, the spell is wasted.

Silver cards

Gremist - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

Gremist

Gremist is a very flexible card that can be useful in many situations. When you use it you create one of the three cards:

Impenetrable Fog - useful when you want to weaken enemy units

Clear Sky - can clear the board from negative Weather effects

Bloodcurdling Roar - you can Consume an ally unit that you have selected and create a Bear that has 12 Strength points

Morkvarg - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

Morkvarg

A card that is useful when combined with a Leader card. Besides that, when Morkvarg is sent to the graveyard he immediately goes back with his base strength lowered by 3 points. Thanks to that this unit usually survives to the second round and has 3 Strength points.

Donar An Hindar - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

Donar An Hindar

A unit that has a rather good base Strength and, in addition to that, he can Lock or Unlock a unit. What is more, when deployed he discards a random Bronze card from your enemy's deck to your graveyard which can in many situations be a hindrance to enemy's plan when they lose an important card. Donar An Hindar is useful when you, e.g. want to take away a special ability of enemy's unit or lock an Ambush that suddenly appeared on your side. It is also useful when you want to Unlock your units so they can use their abilities.

Udalryk - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

Udalryk

A Spy unit that is sent to your enemy's side. Although he has 12 Strength points it is usually used in a round that you can give up so you can get an advantage in cards held in hand in the decisive round. Udalryk allows you to draw 2 cards and keep one of them and discard the second one to the graveyard. It should be noted that those cards can be Golden. Udalryk can be used for, e.g. discarding Clan An Craite Raider and automatically play him on the board or move a Bronze card to the graveyard and then resurrect it by using Priestess of Freya.

White Frost - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

White Frost

A card that creates Biting Frost in enemy's two rows. In the first and second or second and third. You can't choose first and third. Using White Frost creates weather effects that can weaken enemy units and, at the same time, you strengthen Clan Tuirseach Axeman that are played on your side.

Aeromancy - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

Aeromancy

When you use all Weather cards or you don't draw any of them to hold in your hand then Aeromancy allows you to play a Weather card from your deck or the graveyard. It is especially useful to use White Frost again.

Bronze cards

Clan Tuirseach Axeman x3 - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

Clan Tuirseach Axeman x3

The backbone of this deck. When played, Clan Tuirseach Axeman receives 2 Armor points and from now on every time they hurt a unit they increase their Strength by 1 point. This unit is the reason why you can find Weather cards that use Biting Frost on enemy's side. For example, if you used a Weather card on an enemy's row in which there are 5 units then, at the beginning of their turn, each unit looses 1 Strength points while Axeman receives 5!

Clan An Craite Raider x3 - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

Clan An Craite Raider x3

Units that are used in a combination with a Leader card, Madman Lugos or Uldaryk. The idea here is to not play them from hand but by discarding them to the graveyard. By doing that you not only reduce your deck and get a possibility of picking up better cards in the next rounds but you also don't lose any cards from your hand that allows you to play additional units on the board. For example, if you play Madman Lugos in the first round and select Clan An Craite Raider as the card that is discarded to the graveyard you receive 11 Strength points on the board and, in addition to that, you hurt an enemy unit and get 4 points which gives you 15 points in total.

Clan Drummond Shieldmaiden x3 - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

Clan Drummond Shieldmaiden x3

A card that is used to eliminate weakened enemy units. This allows you to draw the remaining two copies of this card from the deck. Each Clan Drummond Shieldmaiden played can deal 2 points of damage. However, you must remember that this effect can only be achieved when you attack weakened units. Attacking a target with full health won't allow you to draw additional cards from the deck.

Biting Frost x3 - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

Biting Frost x3

A Weather effect that deals 1 point of damage to each unit (excluding Gold ones) that is in the row on which it was casted. This allows you to not only damage enemy units but also to strengthen Clan Tuirseach Axeman.

Priestess of Freya - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

Priestess of Freya

Although this unit has only 1 Strength point, it allows you to resurrect a Bronze unit from your graveyard. Thanks to that you can summon, e.g. an additional Clan Tuirseach Axeman on the board if that card was sent to the graveyard by the enemy.

Dimeritium Shackles - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

Dimeritium Shackles

This card allows you to Demote enemy's Golden card into Silver which makes it vulnerable to damage. Dimeritium Shackles are also useful to Lock special abilities of the enemy units or to Unlock your own.

First Light - Skellige | Premade decks - Premade decks - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Guide

First Light

When played creates one of the two cards:

Clear Sky -clear your side of the board from negative Weather effects

Rally - allows you to play a random Bronze card from your deck

General tips for playing

  • It is important to discard at least 2 Clan An Craite Raider (of course if they were picked) and Morkvarg during Mulligan phase. They can be later played in combination with a Leader card and will be immediately moved on the board. It is also important to shuffle into your deck all remaining Clan Drummond Shieldmaiden copies so you can have only one card like this in your hand.
  • If Token draw your turn in the beginning of the game then a perfect way to start a match is to play a Leader card and then discard 2 Clan An Craite Raider and Morkvarg that can be immediately resurrected from the graveyard and return on the deck. In this way you get 20 Strength points by using only one card. Your enemy will be forced to use at least 2 cards if they want to top this score. This gives you a chance for a pass and start the second round with the advantage of having more cards in hand.
  • Remember to play Hjalmar when you know that you will have the opportunity to destroy Lord Undvik that appears on enemy's side. For that you can use Madman Lugos, Biting Frost or Clan Drummond Shieldmaiden.
  • If you have a chance you should play Regis: Higher Vampire in the first round, before your enemy reduces their deck, so you can consume a unit that can have an impact on the match.
  • Remember that a card Consumed by Regis: Higher Vampire is moved to the graveyard so if enemy has a resurrection card they can access it quickly so choose wisely.
  • Remember that Renew card is only useful when there is a Golden card on any of the graveyards.
  • Remember to use Madman Lugos and Clan An Craite Raider combination.
  • In this deck you can find cards with Veteran passive ability. Thanks to that ability those cards increase their base Strength by 1 point in the second and third round.
  • Before you play Clan Tuirseach Axeman you should try to cast Biting Frost on an enemy's row in which you can find at least one unit. Thanks to that when you play an Axeman in the next round it will immediately increase its Strength points making this card harder to eliminate.
  • Use Dimeritium Shackles or Donar An Hindar to Lock important enemy units or Unlock your Axeman. For example, when you fight against Monsters deck you should Lock those units that have Consume, summon additional units or Nekker abilities.
  • Use Gremist wisely. For example, if you are not playing against a deck that uses Weather effects you can use this card to create Bloodcurdling Roar that allows you to, e.g. consume a weakened Bronze unit and create a Bear with 12 Strength points that can be placed in a different row. Bloodcurdling Roar is also useful when facing weather decks because a weakened unit can be turned into a Bear that can be placed in a row where there are no negative effects.
  • Be careful when you are playing Uldaryk because he is sent to the enemy's side and gives them 12 Strength points. Usually, this card is played in the second round after you win the first one so you can have the advantage of having more cards in hand or have the same amount of cards as your enemy. If you are forced to play this card in other situations then the first thing that you should try to do is to sent him to a row on which you can later cast Biting Frost.
  • If enemy units are not weakened and you want to draw Clan Drummond Shieldmaiden from the deck then you can try to attack your own weakened unit that has, e.g. 1 Strength point. This allows you to summon additional Shieldmaiden card copies which increases your overall Strength while reducing your deck.
  • Clan Drummond Shieldmaiden can also be used to eliminate an Ambush that is on your side. You won't summon another copies of this card but you can save a lot of Strength points.
  • When you play Madman Lugos and have Priestess of Freya in your hand you can think about discarding a unit that you can quickly resurrect later. Thanks to that you can be sure that you can play a necessary card without drawing it.
