If youre looking for the versatile hero, who can fight at every distance, heal allies, damage enemies, give bonuses and cause negative effects, there is no one better than the engineer - Engineer - Classes - Guild Wars 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

If you're looking for the versatile hero, who can fight at every distance, heal allies, damage enemies, give bonuses and cause negative effects, there is no one better than the engineer. But his greatest feature is an ability to craft his experimental equipment:

  • Turrets - let you control particular zone by eliminating enemies or healing allies. Turrets with machine guns, flamethrower or using bazookas will be an unpleasant surprise for the attacker.
  • Elixirs - improves engineer's stamina. Using the elixir gun you can fire potions to the allies or, with the proper trait, hurt enemies.
  • Flamethrower - although the engineer prefers long distance combat, he isn't helpless on the short distance. Flamethrower makes your enemy think twice before charging at you.

The equipment above is only a few examples from the weapons available for the engineer. Even if you don't want to use those inventions, you can fight using a pistol or rifle when the combination pistol+shield increases your endurance. Generally, engineer is a perfect support for every team, who can adjust to every situation.

Below you can find skills available for engineers:

Group

Effect

Device kits

Engineer gets a set (bombs, grenades or medical one) and obtains new attacks.

Elixirs

Elixirs cause random effects upon allies.

Gadgets

Supporting or harming gadgets.

Turret skills

Creates a turret.

Weapon kits

Engineer gets a new weapon and attacks.

In PvE engineer works brilliantly. Turrets or mines can be used as traps and flamethrower helps finish off the remaining ones. Elixirs are always good and while playing in a team sharing them with allies won't be unnoticeable.

During the PvP you can both support allies and fight on a medium distance, using the slowing and immobilizing skills to finish off enemies later with the gunfire or flamethrower. What is more, engineer has few skills improving the retreat. Use them, heal and return to harass enemy.
