Ben Sala  (19/40)

A banquet for the vultures

Julio gives this quest. Your job is to find a thief from Ben Sala.

Sugut is the thief. You can find him in an oasis north from Ben Sala. There are also Hurit’s Nomads stationing nearby. Sugut and Hurit want to kill each other so you may accept Hurit’s proposal to help you. Sugut can tell you that he had a companion who had escaped. If you want to work for Campa you can also kill Hurit (but let him help you first).

Benefits:

  • Experience points: 1500
  • Reputation: Ben Sala +10

The way to the temple

Dolok gives this quest.

You can get this quest after reaching a high level of reputation in Ben Sala (do few quests for Daro). Talk to Dolok then and he agrees to show you the way to the temple. There is a fight waiting for you during a trip.

Benefits:

  • Experience points: 2500

Escort Miguel safely to the village

Miguel gives this quest. You can find him in one of the mines while clearing it from the undead. You have to quick because he is being attacked and get killed if you are late. Escort him to the smith in Ben Sala.

Benefits:

  • Experience points: 1000
  • Reputation: Ben Sala +10

Saving Ben Sala

This quest appears after finishing a task connected with the temple (described later). Go back to Ben Sala and report to Julio.

Benefits:

  • Experience points: 2500
  • Reputation: Ben Sala +15

Liberate Ben Sala

It’s a conventional quest connected with liberation of the city. When you decide to support the Nomads, kill all Hashishin in Ben Sala.

Benefits:

  • Experience points: 2500
  • Reputation: Nomads +5

The deal with Basir

Julio, who blames Basir for the undead problem, gives this quest.

According to Julio the only possible punishment is killing Basir. You can find Basir in Montera (you probably already met him so far). It’s not so easy to kill him because he lives in a town full of Orcs and mercenaries. But the problem solves itself when (if) you decide to support the Rebels and liberate Montera. Then you may kill Basir too.

Benefits:

  • Experience points: 1500
  • Reputation: Ben Sala +15

The cursed one

Julio, Daro and Dolok are involved in this quest.

When Dolok shows you the entrance to the temple, there is a great battle waiting for you. You have to kill all the undead outside the temple (including the guardian) and inside. At the very end you have to defeat Yugul the Cursed One.

Benefits:

  • Experience points: 2500
  • Reputation: Ben Sala +20

The ruins

Daro, who is worried about his scouts, gives this quest.

You have to go to the ruins near Ben Sala. It appears that all Daro’s scouts are undead now. Kill all of them and go back to report to Daro.

Benefits:

  • Experience points: 1500
  • Reputation: Ben Sala +10

Six crates of steel

Enzo the smith gives this quest.

Enzo looks for crates missed during the undead assault. You have to look for it in the tunnels (described later). Five crates (named as heavy chests) can be found in the tunnels, and Miguel has the last one. It may happen that you can’ save Miguel from the undead. If so, just loot his body.

Benefits:

  • Experience points: 1500
  • Reputation: Ben Sala +5
  • Attributes: Smithing +1

The tunnels

It’s another quest from Daro.

You have to clear the Ben Sala tunnels from the undead. Go two both places and kill all zombies and skeletons you find there.

Benefits:

  • Experience points: 1500
  • Reputation: Ben Sala +10

Looted goods

Giores the merchant, who was robbed by bandits, gives this quest.

You have to go to the nearest cave that is a bandit’s hideout. Kill all of them and take eight chests of goods with you (you can find it on the ground).

Benefits:

  • Experience points: 1500
  • Reputation: Ben Sala +5

comments and responses

No you don't have to. but strangely enough, it is possible to kill him, and not start the liberation battle. However, you do get, I think, 3 hashishin faction points. You can gain those points other ways, such as offing another water mage.

No, I was going purely from memory, your directions are probably more exact, I was speaking generalities, since the guy was unable to find Sugat. Searching and exploring the entire map is something one learns from playing this series, directions are usually not precise, so if someone says, North of here, then that landmark/person may be NE, N, or NW. Only when someone says due north is it meant to be precise.

As for exploring, I find new stuff each time I play. Sometimes they are hiding in plain sight, and others are cleverly hidden by terrain features.

unless there is something seriously wrong with my game/map/compass/me i found sugut west of ben sala and the ben sala temple near an oasis which wasn't marked by a palm tree on either map. It was marked by a tent shape... I will agree that it is kind of south of ben erai though more south west.

Not north of Ben Sala, but north of the temple Ben Sala which is NW of Ben Sala, so the oasis is NNW of Ben Sala or South of Ben Erai. Like someone said look on your map for palm trees, you will find an oasis there. There is also a camp of nomads nearby, so you have the opportunity for multiple quests with multiple of choices for completing them, depending on what reward you want to achieve. Good luck!

One of the mines (tunnels) is directly behind the town; the other is not far from town just up a hillside from the road on the way to Backaresh. Miguel is in the back of that tunnel, if he survives, you will get the quest to take him to the blacksmith in Ben Sala.

If someone tells you about an oasis look for the little palm tree sign on your map. They're visible on the big world map,but if you con't see em there use the map of the orcish .......,given to you by groc in geldern. And remember look for the palm tree :D

Nevermind, just found the answer on another page. He's in the tavern in Montera. No wonder I never found him. Or didn't remember him, I s'pose. Stupid Basir. He deserves to die now. Bleh.

Where the hell is Basir? I've done all of the quests for Ben Sala except "The deal with Basir" and I can't frikkin' find him anywhere ... Any ideas? Oh, and I'm having problems with learning the "Make Poison" skill as well. I've found two people who'll teach it to me, but everytime, it just takes my gold, no learning poins are spent, it says I've learned it, the icon stays greyed out and I'm unable to make poison still. Weak.

Hi all. Is anyone who knows where to find Yespas??Please....I searched all the desert and found all useful NPCs but i can't still find him.Is there any BUG about? And is anyone having problem with the "Make Poison" skill??I can't learn it.When i go to the NPC and buy the skill it says "learned" but in the skill tree is not hilighted and i can't use it :( an advice: do not waste any learning point to alchemy as you can learn it by reading books around the game.Actually im alchemy 70 and no learning points spent! About ancient knowledge, just try to reach 100 as soon as you can,buy the "Learn Quickly" skill and stop spend learning point on it.You will get around 280/300 by just reading books, stone tablets, weathered tablets etc.. Actually i'm lvl 65,ancient knowledge 295,strengt 220,mana and life 370,endurance 200,hunting skill 190,smithing 25,thieving 75 and i still got 205 learning points to spend. I got few nice spellls too:fire ball, ice lance, thunderbolt, summon demon, bloodlush, tame, summon animal, ice explosion, fire rain and some minor spell.I left Nordmar to visit and no city in Myrtana and Varant has been conquered (it's all planned for the final massacre.......... muahahahaha).I still got no access to Ishtar and the inner castle of Faring. I think i will spend the remaining learning points to reach the impossible strenght of 666(!) and then use the Demon Sword!!!muahahahaha have fun with this fantastic game sorry for my english and thx :D
