Things you should know | Helpful hints Ghost Recon AW Guide

1. You must be VERY careful all the time! Sadly, "Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter" doesn't give you an opportunity to save your progress whenever you want to. Instead, there are only automatic save games. They are activated once you've reached a certain area of the map. You won't be able to delay a savegame. As a result, you will have to remember to kill all of the nearby soldiers first (before moving on to the save area). Otherwise you would find yourself in a very uncomfortable situation. I've displayed all savegame locations in my walkthrough. It should help you a little bit. You will know which areas need to be secured.

2. Remember that you DON'T have to hurry! There are no missions in the game that would require you to proceed quickly to the designated target. There are some objectives, however, that may suggest that you have to hurry. That's not true. Remember that running or even moving more quickly than usual will probably lead you to an immediate failure. You must be very careful. Choose your next targets wisely. You should also be taking a close look at your surroundings.

3. Don't expose yourself or any of your team members too much! "Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter" is a realistic FPP shooter. You must remember that, especially if you've chosen one of the higher difficulty levels. One bullet is enough to kill your hero or someone from your team. The same goes with your opponents.

4. Try to avoid larger groups of enemy soldiers and (if possible) organize surprise attacks. Thankfully, you should be able to kill most of the enemy soldiers without having to expose your position, especially if you're carrying a sniper rifle or a machine gun with a combatsight attached to it. You should also be leaning out a lot. Most of the terrorists won't notice you doing that. You will have at least a few seconds in order to make a precise shot.

5. Use ALL of the surrounding objects for cover. Most levels are highly detailed, so you will be able to use a lot of different objects for cover. You shouldn't also have any problems finding them. One of the best objects for these kinds of actions are the small brick walls. They provide enough cover for you soldier, however you can shoot at the enemy soldiers at the same time.

6. Conserve your ammunition. You should know that you will be able to pick up extra ammunition from some of the killed enemy soldiers, however this only works if you're carrying a "popular" type of a machine gun. A sniper rifle, on the other hand, will require you to plan each shot. You can't miss, otherwise you'll lose a precious bullet. You must also pick your targets wisely. I would also recommend that you choose single shots, instead of long bursts. They should only be used in smaller areas of if you're providing a covering fire for the allied soldiers.

7. Choose your weapons and the additional equipment wisely. You've probably read about this before. I often picked a standard machine gun. It's a most suitable weapon for most of the missions, especially when it has combatsight attached to it. Sniper rifle is also a good idea. It might help you during some missions, especially these that take place during the night. Like I've said before, you must pick your targets wisely. As for the second weapon, it's good to have the MP5 with you, although in some missions it's better to take the rocket launcher instead of a new gun. Thanks to that, you'll be able to take out some of the more difficult targets.
