| a) i took a sniper rifle - you can eliminate even the most distant snipers and guys behind walls (as long as the drone sees them
b) i walked as north as possible, there are not that many guys there

| I have the same problem, and I get there before the copter, and it still gets stuck. I have seen no one resolve this other than the "Get there before it does," answer.

| I worked out how to get around this problem. The helicopter only seems to get stuck if it lands before you arrive at the drop zone - i.e. if you take your time getting there.
