Sheep | Animal husbandry Farming Simulator 17 Guide

Last update: 23 November 2016

Sheep have also been present in the previous installment. They are not too much trouble, especially that they require simple foods (grass/hay) water and daily cleaning to ensure you with full productivity. Profitability is high and workload, although it may seem otherwise is low. Sheep are kept mainly for wool that has to be loaded onto a trailer with fork for palettes (the cheapest option: a tip for the head loader of the tractor) and taken to the collection point. Remember to secure it with belts for transport!. Fortunately, there is no haste here. You can also wait for a good opportunity to sell it and put effort into production for export. Sheep do not produce manure! This is why, this type of animals provides you profits only from selling wool and they do not benefit you in any other way.

However, it is a good idea to focus on sheep. To keep a flock of sheep, you do not even have to start a grass field and you only have to mow some grass on nearby fields. Profits are relatively high, which makes sheep a good investment - especially at the beginning, which is not too costly ($4,000/unit) - which the entire game does not revolve around, and you only come to feed the animals and collect wool, from time to time. Also, sheep are less messy than other animals. Even if their place is dirty, with a supply of water and food, productivity remains at the level of 90%.

Both food and water for sheep are to be placed in troughs be the grazing land. In front of the building connected with the pasture, in the marked area, you can collect wool. The larger zone at the other side is for unloading sheep that you bring to your farm.
