I would like to present a Empire: Total War guide. This game was created by the Creative Assembly Studio and was published by SEGA.

This text is written mainly for novice players who are learning basic rules of the game. You will find here a variety of tips for playing all kinds of battles, the game mechanics and behavior on the campaign map. In addition, in this guide you can find precise descriptions of the basic units (which can be found in Empire) and tips for all of the campaigns. The guide also includes a complete walkthrough for the American "Road to Independence".

The guide was created after releasing a patch from 10.03.2009. Informations about the size of contingents was devised by setting the size of units at the Ultra (see the graphic settings in the game).

I would like to thank the players who have published many of very important ideas in the special Total War thread on the GRY-OnLine forum site. Without observations and opinions of people such as Alex, Attyla, bone_man, dasintra, Diplo, Drackula, Glob3r, peners, szlawq and cyanobacteria, this guide would be much shorter and poorer. In addition, the process of creating it would be much longer. In particular, I would like to thank a user with a grateful nickname: Pejotl. Without his aid, it would be impossible for me to learn such many things about Marat Confederation and its army. Once again, great thanks!

I hope that the guide will answer all your questions. Also, I would like to wish you a pleasant read and a lot of success in the eighteenth-century world of Empire: Total War!

Rewrite history of the eighteenth century!

Empire: Total War is set in the eighteenth century, a turbulent period alive with global conflict, revolutionary fervour and technological advances. With themes such as the Industrial Revolution, America's struggle for independence, the struggle to control Eastern trade routes and the globalisation of war on land and sea, Empire: Total War is one of the richest and most dynamic PC RTS games of all time.

Empire: Total War sees the debut of 3D naval combat in the Total War series. Command vast fleets or single ships on seascapes rich with extraordinary water and weather effects, all of which play a huge role in your eventual glorious success or ignominious defeat. After pummelling your enemy with cannon fire, close your ships to boarding range and then control your men as they fight hand to hand above and below decks.

Along with the revolutionary introduction of naval combat, Empire: Total War sees further enhancements to the Total War series' signature 3D battles and turn-based campaign map. Real-time battles pose new challenges with the addition of cannon and musket, challenging players to master new formations and tactics as a result of the increasing role of gunpowder in warfare.

The campaign map - which remains at the heart of the expansive Total War experience - will see new agents, a refined and streamlined interface, improved Advisors and extended scope to take in the riches of India, the turbulence of Europe and the untapped potential of North America.

- Starting in 1700 - the era of warfare across oceans, revolution and the founding of the United States.

- Take command on the high seas. 3D naval combat makes its debut in Empire: Total War

- A revolution in the series with brand new engine mechanics and technologies.

- A major overhaul of the multiplayer aspects of the game with several different game experiences available.(info about game from official fact sheet)
