The site contains the description of finishing the Samizdat side quest in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. This description also contains the information about how to find the hackers' hideout in Prague, how to convince the to cooperate, and how to retrieve the CEO's documents in the Palisade Property bank in Prague.

Last update: 19 September 2016

In this mission you must find the hackers interested in the Praha Dobov company that is a cover for TF29 headquarters in Prague. You can receive this quest from Peter Chang who is a cybercrime specialist in TF29. You will find him in his office on the second floor of the secret quarter of the Task Force in the Northern Prague (M7,1). During the conversation you must promise you will check the matter. Chang will give you location of the apartment that you must investigate. The apartment is located in Hlavni 33.

List of objectives

1. MANDATORY - Find the source of the hack - You must examine the computer in apartment 302 in Hlavni 33 (M8,2).

2. MANDATORY - Find Samizdat in Davny district - Hackers' hideout is in the sewers under the Davny district (M10,1).

3. MANDATORY - Keep Samizdat from exposing TF29 - You can eliminate the hackers or convince them to change their position by talking with K.

4. MANDATORY - Silence the members of Samizdat - This objective will become active only if you attack the hackers.

5. MANDATORY - Dig up dirt in the CEO's office - This quest, as well as two other, will appear on the list only if you agree to give a favor to the hackers. You have to reach the Palisade Property bank. The CEO's documents are in his office on the 9th floor. (M12,1).

6. MANDATORY - Return the dirt on Picus to K - Meet K in the hacker's hideout in the sewers.

7. MANDATORY - Override the city's info hub - You have to hack into the terminal on the roof of Autolide's building in Northern Prague (M3,4).

Hack into the computer in apartment 302

Go to the Hlavni 33. You must examine apartment 302 located on the third floor of the building. The entrance door to the apartment has a lock with second-level security, but you can also get inside through the ledge from one of the windows.

The most important finding in the apartment is Samizdat computer (M8,2). It has first level security. After hacking the computer you can check the e-mails and activate the communicator in order to speak with K. During the conversation you should select the left dialogue options from the list - gaining some time and bluffing. This will allow you to learn the precise location of the hackers' hideout. You will also receive 5431 code to their hideout. If K becomes suspicious, then you will have to base your knowledge on the information from the e-mails. You will receive 750 experience points.

Leave the area and start looking for Samizdat's secret hideout. If you successfully completed the conversation with K, you will know to use the sewer entrance located at the music shop in the northern part of Prague (M3,3). More specifically, you must get to the sewers located under the Davny district (they are located in a different place from the sewers under the Cista district!).

The hackers' hideout is in the eastern part of the sewers (M10,1) and you can get there for example by reaching the main entrance (M10,2). Two obstacles will appear there - a large chest that you must push (you must have the augmentation that allows picking heavy items) and the terminal at the closed gate. It has third level security, but you can enter the 5431 code which you could have obtained earlier by correctly leading the conversation with K.

Another way of reaching the hideout is walking through the northern part of the sewers. You must jump to the second floor of the sewers and finish the journey to the place from where you can see the whole hideout (M10,3). Selecting this path is the best way if you plan to attack the hackers (details below).

For finding the hackers' hideout you will receive 750 experience points.

Solving the problem with hackers

You can kill or stun the hackers - Samizdat - side quest - Side quests - Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Game Guide
You can kill or stun the hackers

You can deal with the hackers in two ways. The first one is eliminating all members of Samizdat. You can either kill or stun them. If you plan on taking them alive, then you should reach the previously mentioned "viewpoint" and throw them a gas grenade as a surprise. You can also perform a series of quick knockdowns on them or try forcing them to split and then take them out one by one. If the hackers are only stunned, from the conversation with Chang you will learn that they will be transported to TF29 headquarters and put into prison.

The second option is trying to solve the matter peacefully. In order to do that you must get close to the hackers - this will trigger a conversation with K, their leader. The objective of the conversation is to convince the hackers to stop monitoring Praha Dovoz which could lead to blowing up the cover of the TF29 headquarters. The first part of the conversation is very linear. Only further in the talk you will have to decide how to behave. Trying to scare the hackers (the right dialogue option) will end in failure. Instead of that, you can propose cooperation with them in exchange for abandoning the topic of Praha Dovoz (left option). In that situation K will ask you to investigate the office of Ashani Talwar from the Palisade Property bank, and to retrieve the documents that can help to blackmail Picus. If you agree, then the quest will continue.

If you have the Social Enhancer upgrade (which allows analyzing other people and creating their psychological portraits), you can behave in one more way - use persuasion. After selecting this option a new part of the conversation will start. This part will be analyzed by your Social Enhancer. Select the left dialogue options (Beta) and K will agree to quit monitoring Praha Dovoz. Of course, despite completing the main mission objective, you can agree to help the hackers with Ashani Talwar.

For solving the trouble with hackers you can receive up to 3000 experience points (including up to 500 if you correctly used persuasion).

Retrieving the documents in the CEO's office in the bank

The quest can be continued if you agree to help the hackers in retrieving the documents that will incriminate Picus. In order to do so, you have to get to the Palisade Property bank located in the Western part of the map in the Northern Prague. The documents are in the CEO's office on the 9th floor (M12,1). Reaching the place will be challenging because the clients of the bank don't have access to the whole floor (and many other areas on other floors). Furthermore, if Jensen is exposed, an alarm will be raised very quickly, and the protagonist will be hunted by the guards, turrets, and robots. Secrecy is advisable - suggested paths are described below.

The main elevator - you need an access card to be able to use it to get to the top floor. - Samizdat - side quest - Side quests - Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Game Guide
The main elevator - you need an access card to be able to use it to get to the top floor.

The most obvious way is by the elevator (M12,4). It doesn't take people to the top floor by default - an access card is required.

The required card can be obtained in a couple of places in the bank, but during this quest, consider the following possibility. The first card can be found in an account manager office on the 8th floor, near the lobby (M12,3). To open the door, you can use an access code - 0831, BUT the office is off limits, so you cannot be spotted. You can distract the guards, or use camouflage, and close the door. The second card can be obtained in the executive services room on level 7 (M12,33). The code to this room is 9593, and here as well you need to make sure nobody sees you.

A totally different method of getting to the 9th floor, is using an inactive shaft located behind the main elevator (M12,8) - Samizdat - side quest - Side quests - Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Game Guide

A totally different method of getting to the 9th floor, is using an inactive shaft located behind the main elevator (M12,8). It's best to get into the side area separating rooms on level 8 (M12,5). The easiest way to get there is by using the ventilation shaft shown above, but you can as well get there to conference hall (available to everyone) (M12,6) and breach through a weak wall in there.

After reaching the shaft located behind the elevator, you need to perform a couple of big jumps and grab upper ledges - Samizdat - side quest - Side quests - Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Game Guide

After reaching the shaft located behind the elevator, you need to perform a couple of big jumps and grab upper ledges. This will get you to level 9 (M12,9) where you will be able to enter the vent shat shown above. It will get you to a new side area (M12,13). On the left there is a grate that will let you get into one of the main corridors - you will be near to the destination.

Entrance to the CTO office - Samizdat - side quest - Side quests - Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Game Guide
Entrance to the CTO office

Both paths will lead you to the CTO's office (M12,15), which is adjacent to the CEO's office. In that office, there are two guards, who can be eliminated easily, or sneaked by when they are facing opposite directions. Additionally, mind the turret mounted above the stairs to the CEO's office. Wait until it turns around, and the go to the door, but make sure your crouching directly under the turret. The terminal has only level 1 security, but it can be opened with a code - 0211

After entering the office, you dont need to hack her computer (you can, of course - level 3 security) - Samizdat - side quest - Side quests - Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Game Guide

After entering the office, you don't need to hack her computer (you can, of course - level 3 security). The most important thing is to locate the documents against Picus, containing the results of the analysis of drinking water. Finding them will get you 1500 XP and a bonus if you reached CEO office without being spotted.

Giving the documents to K and hacking into the info hub

You can leave the bank and het back to the hackers hideout in the sewers (M10,1) - Samizdat - side quest - Side quests - Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Game Guide

You can leave the bank and het back to the hackers' hideout in the sewers (M10,1). Give K the documents (dialogue option) and you will get 350XP, as well as the last quest - bypassing the security in the info hub.

Leave the sewers and go to the Autolide building in the Northern Prague (M3,4). You have to get to the roof of the building - check the ramp shown above. It has to be charged - insert a biocell. After activating it, go to the roof and find a terminal. It only has level 1 security. After breaching into the system, choose the first option on the list - unlocking a remote admin. The quest will be finished, and you'll get 750XP.
