Destiny 2: Equipment - basics, introduction Destiny 2 Guide

This chapter is dedicated to equipment: weapons and armor that can be used by your character. Additionally, those items are divided into classes based on their rarity. From the following chapters you can also learn about methods of getting equipment.

Last update: 28 March 2021

This chapter describes all equipment available in the game: weapons and armor that your hero can use. In addition, we have described the division of equipment classes according to their frequency of occurrence and the methods of obtaining equipment in the following chapters.

In this chapter we will focus on the equipment and the Power it represents. You can carry three types of weapons with you at the same time, that is, kinetic weapon, energy weapon and heavy weapon. Grenades are treated as a renewable skill over time, not as an item. Additional equipment is clothing and armor, which consist of five elements.

Finding equipment in Destiny 2

It's worth knowing that both engrams dropped by enemies and ammunition which you can come across are only visible to you during the multiplayer gameplay. Thus, you don't have to worry that other players could steal your loot. The same goes for the chests after the events - the loot is not awarded to one person, but everyone will receive an equal amount of loot from it (until it disappears after a short time, so don't forget to use it).

Postmaster - pick up items you missed

Note: If you forgot to collect the engram, then nothing bad has happened. When you return to The Farm (social location) or The Tower, you'll find an NPC called the Postmaster. He stores all the items you have managed to get from loot chests and drops of defeated opponents, but which you have not physically managed to collect or were not able to store in your full inventory.

Vault

In addition, it is worth knowing that you can store surplus equipment in Vaults - terminals in The Tower and on The Farm. This is especially useful when you have obsolete exotic items, which you can infuse later by leveling their power levels and using their unique characteristics.
