Weaponry | Multiplayer CoD: Ghosts Guide

Properly selected weaponry is the most important thing that will determine your effectiveness in the battlefield. The best gear does not consist of the weapons of the greatest firepower, or the most advanced ones, but of those that you can operate easily, which is best suited for a given map and the most universal one.

Primary weapon

Assault rifles (effective at medium and long range):

  • SC-2010 - the basic weapon available at the beginning of the game; good for medium and long range.
  • SA-805 - a weapon of high rate of fire and high damage, good for medium and long range.
  • AK-12 high accuracy, big magazine, good for medium and long range.
  • FAD - high accuracy, medium recoil.
  • Remington R5 - high accuracy, low recoil, medium rate of fire.
  • MSBS - shoots bursts of three rounds, high damage, high rate of fire.
  • Honey Badger - has integrated suppressor, good over medium distance.
  • ARX-160 - the highest rate of fire of all the assault rifles, high accuracy of the first three rounds.

SMG (effective at short distance) :

  • Bison - high rate of fire, low recoil.
  • CBJ-MS - the highest rate of fire of all the SMGs, shoots full metal jacket ammo (armor piercing).
  • Vector CRB - the highest damage of all the SMGs, higher penetration of objects (e.g. walls).
  • Vepr - the highest supply of ammo of all the SMGs, low recoil.
  • K7 - integrated suppressor.
  • MTAR-X - sizeable clip, good accuracy and range

Marksman rifles (effective over medium and long range) :

  • MR-28 - semi-automatic, decreased recoil, decreased range, high rate of fire.
  • MK14 EBR - semi-automatic, medium recoil, the largest damage in this group.
  • IA-2 - semi-automatic, well-balanced weapon of good statistics.
  • SVU - semi-automatic, effective over long distance

Sniper rifles (effective over long distance) :

  • USR - decreased recoil, low rate of fire.
  • L115 - decreased recoil.
  • Lynx - semi-automatic, low mobility.
  • VKS - semi-automatic, integrated suppressor, the greatest supply of ammo in this weapon class.

Shoguns (lethal over short distance) :

  • Bulldog - semi-automatic, high rate of fire, lethal at short distance.
  • FP6 - the greatest damage in this weapon class, effective at short distance.
  • MTS-225 - double-barreled, 5 slot magazine, lethal over short distance.
  • Tac 12 - the greatest supply of shells in this group.

Other:

  • Combat knife - allows you to gain additional perk slots, if you equip it as the primary weapon.
  • Riot shield - alleviates damage from rounds and explosives.

Secondary weapon

Pistols:

  • M9A1 - the basic pistol available from the very beginning, semi-automatic of well-balanced statistics.
  • MP-443 Grach - semi-automatic, low recoil, the greatest rate of fire in this class.
  • P226 - semi-automatic, the greatest supply of ammo in this class, high rate of fire, increased recoil.
  • Magnum .44 - single shot, the greatest damage in this class.
  • PDW - fires bursts of 3 rounds, high rate of fire, low recoil

Launchers:

  • Knuckle-duster - a grenade launcher, fires projectiles that explode on impact.
  • Panzerfaust - rocket launcher.
  • MK32 - a launcher firing Semtex projectiles.

Lethal equipment

It includes:

  • Frag grenade
  • Semtex explosives - it glues to the target or to the ground, explodes several seconds after it is thrown.
  • Throwing knife - a retrievable knife that kills in one stab.
  • I.E.D. - glues to target or to the ground, explodes when an enemy approaches.
  • C4 - glues to the target or to the ground, remotely detonated.
  • Canister bomb

Tactical equipment

It includes:

  • 9-Bang (stunning) - blinds the enemy, disables electronic devices.
  • Concussion (concussion grenade) - confuses the enemy and slows him down.
  • Smoke grenade - creates a smoke screen which limits the range of vision and blocks automatic targeting systems.
  • Trophy system - a turret that destroys enemy projectiles.
  • Motion sensor - activated at the moment when an enemy approaches it, marks the target which allows it to be seen through targeting systems.
  • Thermobaric - creates an explosion of big radius but low damage, weakens armor.

Summary

The selection of equipment is entirely up to you. The best way is to select them by trial-and-error, where you try out every available piece of equipment. Still, this may take some time, especially that you first need to unlock it, using the Squad Points. Below, you will find two sets of equipment that may prove useful for rookies.

The first one (for stealthy elimination) :

  • Primary weapon: Honey Badger + extended magazine+ full metal jacket ammo (piercing/ anti-tank)
  • Secondary weapon : M9A1
  • Lethal equipment : throwing knife
  • Tactical equipment: 9-Bang grenade or smoke grenade.

The second one (for free exchange of fire) :

  • Primary weapon : AK-12 or CBJ-MS + extended magazines + Foregrip
  • Secondary weapon: Magnum .44
  • Lethal equipment: frag grenade or semtex explosive
  • Tactical equipment: 9-Bang grenade or concussion grenade
