Hints | Multiplayer CoD: Ghosts Guide

Last update: 11 May 2016

Below, you will find a handful of hints concerning the multiplayer mode:

  • Get to know the maps - you should pay attention especially to the places where an enemy could hide, remember the alternative routes to popular spots, to flank the enemy. With profound knowledge of a given map, you will have little problems winning with a player who is better equipped than you, but keeps getting lost.
  • Beat the single player campaign mode (if you haven't already) - apart from suspenseful game, this is also a good way to learn a few skills that will prove useful during the online game, like the selection of natural covers correctly, or using grenades effectively.
  • Stay away from the center of events. This may sound strange because, to kill you need to be in the center of events but, you should always keep your distance from such spots. Whenever you hear gunfire or a heated "discussion", do not run there headlong, but assess the situation calmly and try sneaking up to the oblivious enemies - Where two dogs fight for a bone, a third dog runs away with it.
  • Be no camper. Hiding in one place with a view over the center of action may reward you with few easy kills, but does not contribute to the improvement of your skills, it only withholds the process of learning the map. Apart from that, you may be sure that an enemy that you have just served with a burst into the back, will come for you to have his revenge.
  • Be a part of the team (whenever required) - this may sound like a cliché, but a frag is not everything. When players cooperate, cover each other and complete missions, they stand more chance to win - and often you receive more experience for winning than for frags themselves.
  • Sprint with consideration. It is obvious that moving around the map quickly is important but, if you bump into an enemy, while sprinting, for a short period of time, you will be unable to use your guns - this may give the opponent the opportunity to eliminate you. Additionally, while sprinting you make a lot of noise, which may make it easier for the enemy to locate you. Move with vigor, but do not sprint too often.
  • Pay attention to when you reload the gun. Running around with only one round in your clip, because you have forgotten to reload, is just as dangerous as reloading your gun right after you have killed an enemy - you never know if the enemy was alone or if there is another one around. Reload only if you are sure that there is no threat of imminent meeting with an enemy.
