World map and village management

  • While on the world map, you can look up your resources and attack new territories. Also, you can prepare for defense, if a given area is attacked by the enemy. You can attack and defend only once per turn.
  • While on the world map, you can plan on your actions. Only after you end the turn, recent changes will be applied to the map.
  • You can decide to attack any territory you want. Select those of the locations that provide bonuses after they are conquered. It is best to choose those of the missions that unlock new heroes and provide the highest bonuses.
  • While building a village, focus on water carriers in the first place and buy health potions for your heroes - they will come in handy.
  • It is a good idea to ensure enough masonry shops, thanks to which you will develop your city faster.
  • If you are suffering from gold shortages, invest into merchant guilds and sell the items that you obtain.
  • Remember that your heroes have to be strong to conquer new territories - invest in additional gear for them and develop technologies that will reinforce them.
  • Remember that you collect resources at the beginning of your turn only. Plan on your actions in a way that will allow you to obtain technology that you desire, or build a specific building.
  • Note that on your village map, each sector has its own specific bonuses. For example, mountainous areas provide bonuses to building materials,. Plan on your construction in advance and, if necessary, demolish structures that you already have.
  • Factions that you attack will grow more hostile towards you and they will attack you in return. Remember not to fight greater numbers of opponents on the world map.
  • Try to attack enemy territories every turn

Hero missions

Pick your heroes from the perspective of their suitability for the mission. - General hints - The basics - Champions of Anteria Game Guide
Pick your heroes from the perspective of their suitability for the mission.
  • Hero missions get increasingly more difficult with your progress into enemy territories. Remember to replenish your heroes' health potions and inventory on a regular basis.
  • While selecting a mission, you can pick three heroes that will go on that mission. With time, your pool of available heroes will expand. Always note distribution of elements in a given territory - the indicator informs you what elements defenders of the territory wield. Pick heroes that counter those elements.
  • Keep an eye on the abilities of your heroes and always keep in mind that they are different for each one of them. For example, Vargus obtains vigor points for each direct attack and then, he can use it on his special attacks. The higher the vigor level, the higher damage dealt.
  • The key element of combat is learning the correlation between individual elements. It goes: fire>metal>nature>lightning>water>fire. The element superior to another one deals higher damage to that elements and takes less damage from it.
  • Each attack, or special ability, of a hero represents a specific element. Therefore, pick them to deal as much damage as possible to your opponents, who also have their characteristic elements. The same goes for taking damage - focus enemy attacks on the hero that wield the element that is superior to your opponents'.
  • If you find a battle especially demanding, remember that you can use additional gear, such as ballistae. Also, remember to use health potions frequently and always replenish them after the mission.
  • Boss battles are especially demanding, because of their unique abilities and fight mechanics. Also, each one of them has a bar, which shows cooldown for the specific ability. At all costs, avoid attacks that are signaled beforehand, with e.g. highlighted areas on the ground.
