You can turn evil very easily once you win the land by killing everything that moves there. In the first Japanese land there will be quest to do that so you might want to wait till then. It does not really matter, its purely cosmetic. Evil in terms of gameplay = war. Meaning you need to send armies to take over the cities instead of waiting for them to join you on their own accord. Avoid placing items that boost happiness, bunch houses as close as possible, put evil buildings like (punishment spikes, torture pits...etc) to boost productivity, neglecting needs of your people... all those things will turn you evil. Also, staring house type: "Villa" is a good building. Buy "House" and "Skyscraper" to avoid good bonuses from placing Villas.

Ok, is there any particularly effictive way to get off to an evil start with these? I recall in Black and White that there were some really creative evil options in the first land. I couldn't come up with anything really creative (or effective) here. Tossing villagers around until they die works but is not very efficient.
