General Hints

  1. Upon spawning on an arena you have got 60 seconds for saying hello to your teammate and discussing a strategy with them. You must also take this time to select your first Battlerite. Use this time wisely.
  2. Each skill is described by travel speed and cast time statistics. While aiming you must take under consideration both of these, meaning that you should take aim at where the opponent is going to be in a moment.
  3. Each skill fills the energy bar, but the amount of energy they yield varies.
  4. Every arena has walls that limit the field of vision. You can use them as shields, since melee and projectile attacks do not penetrate walls.
  5. Walls can be used for a surprise attack if your Hero has a teleportation skill. They also help you escape, provided that an opponent cannot leap to you.
  6. The game features character collision, so keep your distance from your allies so not to constrain their range of movement.
  7. Using the character collision you can trap your opponent by forcing them into a corner. This is a good tactics in a 2 on 1 situation. If the victim does not have an escape skill ready, they may be in big trouble.
  8. Battlerite is all about combat, but you should also know how to weigh your chances. If you see that your action has failed and you have two opponents on your back do not hesitate to back out for a moment in order to regroup.
  9. Make use of Cancel (C button on default). The so-called baiting tactics is an essential thing in Battlerite. Imagine that you have started casting a spell and an opponent immediately leaps to you in order to interrupt. In such case press C to cancel the action, and use some sort of a crowd control skill, so to root the opponent and inflict damage on them. This way you can lure opponents into corners and trap them. Another example of using Cancel is when you have started casting a skill and an opponent activates a counter. Immediately cancel your action before you are countered.
  10. About 20 seconds after a game starts a ball spawns in the center of the map, which has 50 hit points. This is a very important element of every match, because the ball provides a major energy boost to the team that deals the last hit on it. You should always fight hard over this strategic point.
  11. Besides the big orb in the center there are smaller orbs around the center of the arena. The green ones restore some health and the orange boost energy.
  12. If one of your allies dies, they drop a health orb.

Movement

In order to move quickly and make it difficult for your enemy to target your Hero you should follow a few principles:

  1. Never stand in one place! This is a basic mistake beginners make. True, it is easier to aim while not moving, but this way you also expose your Hero to a grave danger. Keeping your character in one place for even a brief moment may cost them losing even half of the health bar.
  2. Use environmental obstacles. Each arena has walls that you can cover behind in order to avoid taking a hit. It is not a shame to run from the center of the map in order to lure your opponent to a more favorable fighting ground.
  3. Learn how to kite, that is run around an opponent. This is a basic trick that every wannabe Battlerite champion should master. Most Heroes, while fighting at close quarters, simply jump at opponents and try to hurt them as bad as they can. Usually, their skills deal damage only in the area directly in front of them. When you learn each hero's mechanics you will be able to kite your opponent and reduce the damage taken. At the same time use all your available skills, such as stunning, slowing down, teleportation, etc.
  4. Try to predict opponents' moves and make them waste their skills. For example, when you are fighting a ranged character and notice that they are targeting your Hero and casting a powerful spell, immediately change the direction of movement or leap to some other place.
