Food production in the beginning of the game | Buildings Banished Guide

- Don't set up any crop fields or orchards in the beginning of the game - they give you food only in the autumn, which may cause a starvation in the first few months.
- Your first building used for food production should be the gatherer's hut - forest is a source of unlimited food and you should use it as much as you can.
- The second food production building should be the hunting cabin - wild animals are easy to hunt in the beginning of the game and they give you access to venison.
- Increase the food production limits - there's never too much food, especially in the beginning, so you should store as much as you can.
- Build storage barns as close to housing as possible - citizens should be close to their food supplies.
